Dialectical Differences of Opinion

They say everyone likes to hate something. I hate the British accent.
Just my personal opinion, I know, but I can't help wondering why it's usually a British chap or chappette who is narrator for documentaries and any type of philosophical or educational film. That air of superiority or "enlightenment entitlement" is what really ticks me off. It must be that many of us in the US still harbor the sentiment that our English-speaking Englishmen truly know how to say what needs to be said. However, I'd love to watch a documentary someday with a speaker who has what is considered to be the dialect of a lower socioeconomic class be the one deferred to as the expert or the insightful one. It's not just a matter of dialectical difference; it's a subtle prejudice that certain accents automatically represent the voice of reason or intelligence.

LP ( -a speaker w/ working class Boston accent and tainted by many old fashioned, folksy colloquialisms, who talks w/ breathy vocal quality and w/ high pitch...not your typical "smart sounding" voice!)
